Sonnet for a Wi-Fi Password

O sacred string of characters divine,

Why must thy form resist all mortal mem'ry?

Upper and lower case entwined like vine,

A special symbol standing as a sentry.

I wrote thee on a Post-it, lost it well,

Tried Password123 and then my cat's name,

The router's reset button rings like bell

Of defeat — I've played this fruitless game.

Shall I compare thee to a summer's breeze?

Thou art more complex and more infuriating.

When internet is cut, connections freeze,

And I am left my fingers, twiddling, waiting.

So long as Wi-Fi lives and Netflix loads,

So lives my hatred for thy cryptic codes.
