The Art of the Courtesy Flush

There is an etiquette

rarely taught in schools

but passed down nonetheless—

the way a nod passes between strangers,

the way a held door says *I see you*.

It is not obligation.

It is grace.

It is the small acknowledgment

that we are all fragile here,

all human in the most biological sense,

all sharing walls thin enough

that we might as well share everything.

Flush early. Flush often.

Be the neighbor you wish existed.
