Physicists say

most of the universe is dark matter—

the stuff we cannot see or measure,

only infer from the way

light bends around it.

I think of all the grief

that has no name.

The losses no one commemorates.

The loves that never quite

became something you could call love.

Bending light.

Shaping everything.

Imperceptible.

Absolute.
